Shift_2_Improbability_Drive

Did you listen to Shift yet? I hope so, because the second mix in a week is released, and this one is what it's all about. Shifting to Improbability Drive, and this is where the fun really begins. Welcome to the future of LoveBug.

Download the ogg file or listen to it using the web based player on the mixes page.

This is donk. Know it. Love it. There's going to be a lot more where that came from.

Shift_To_Another_Gear

Now presenting a new mix called Shift. It's the movement to another gear. Stay tuned to find out what gear that is. MORE TO COME!!!

You can download the OGG or listen to it now on the mixes page. But don't get too attached. This mix is only a glimpse of what's next. When the new one hits, it will be instantly forgotten. So shift with me, but the next gear is where you want to be. Make sure you shift all the way!

No more MP3s

I will no longer be distrubing mixes in MP3 format. There is just no need. Technology has increased and so have encoding and listening programs to where I don't think MP3 is a necessary format to use anymore. It's just not that great of a compression tool, and the sound quality is dismal.

From now on, all future mixes will be offered in ogg vorbis only. There are several reasons for this, but quality and file size are the most important ones. The new files will be ogg vorbis Q4 (averaging 128kbps), and will be about 2/3rds the file size. The difference in sound quality will be impressive and considerable. A 128kbps ogg vorbis is similar in quality to a 256-320kbps MP3. Since I don't offer MP3s that size, I know they will sound better than the 192 MP3 that has been the previous standard.

Since I deleted the original WAV files from lack of hard drive space of all the mixes previous to Infected With A Virus, all of those will still be offered as MP3s. Since I still have the original .wav files for The Hard Line and Infected With A Virus, those are offered as both the MP3 and ogg vorbis, in case you're some sort of Luddite who needs MP3s to feel safe. After that however, all the mixes will only be offered in ogg vorbis.

**WARNING** The new file format may demand better listening equipment, such as expensive headphones or better computer speakers or large sound systems. I apologize in advance for any -convenience- this may cause.

If you don't already have VLC or Winamp, please follow the links below to acquire a player that can handle ogg vorbis:

DOWNLOAD VLC

DOWNLOAD WINAMP

Luddites: If you are somehow opposed to VLC or Winamp, or can't figure out how to download or install it, here are a few much longer or harder or otherwise alternate solutions.

CLICK HERE for a Directshow codec package that installs filters for Windows players that use Directshow.

The mixes will also remain available through the web based player on the Mixes page. You won't be able to download them that way, but you can listen to them as much as you'd like.

Mac users, and Windows users who are using iTunes, can use the XiphQT plugin pack to include OGG support into all QuickTime applications. Click here for more info.

For everyone else, enjoy.

Fry mah hide!

This doesn't have anything to do with anything really, but it's so funny I have to share it.

Today we came across a site that rewords all the text on a given page. After loading the front page and reading the entries, I nearly had a stroke from laughing. I don't sound like this, but it would be even funnier if I did.

Click here to see what all the fuss is about.

Reach out and touch someone.

It was a classy slogan. On the surface, a well meaning message regarding getting a hold of someone you care about. The deeper meaning was a little dirty... and in some scenarios, really creepy.

What I'm trying to say is, if you haven't already, head on over to the contact page to check out all the networking possibilities. Be sure to click on the button for The DJ List. In fact, click all the buttons. No excuses, off you go. Why are you even still reading? You're supposed to be going to the contact page to click the buttons. I made them especially for people to click on. Are you really still reading? STOP IT. Go click on the buttons. If you don't, all my hard work will be WASTED!!!!!

Well clearly you're a lost cause, so I'll fill the rest of this with nonsense space filler so that you won't be tempted to read anymore instead of going and clicking buttons. Tyoulkjw spoiu lksidv slikuje saliv apwj viya euuwopqnm vhoisd okevba. Oh yeah, that's interesting stuff right there.

Ok fine, just go already.

Cover art for The Hard Line

Alright so I got the cover art done. I've been getting some great feedback on the mix as well. Apparently everyone is really digging the tracks I used. If you haven't had a chance to listen to it, I suggest you do. There aren't a lot of tricks or smoke and mirrors with this one either. It's just solid mixing straight through, and really fun to bop around to. I recorded it with the new laptop and new firewire sound card, and I think it came out really nice. I also have a bunch of CDs burned, all tracked out and everything, so stay tuned for the next event, because I'll probably be giving them away during my set. Speaking of which, we're still working on getting the event page set up, but as soon as it's done, I'll let you know. You don't want to miss what I have lined up, it's going to be epic!!!

Show some Love!

A new feature has been added to the mixes page. Now you can voice your opinion on any or all of the mixes by leaving a comment! It's also a good way to view comments from others, so if you're wondering if a mix is any good, you can check out the feedback from it.

The comment section is moderated, but this is only to keep spam and juvenile behavior from being posted without pause. There is no politics involved, and if you don't leave a real email, it's no big deal. You can if you want though. It makes it easier for me to send a reply if you want one. I also suggest filling in the Subject field. It's the comment title, and if you don't put one it just uses the first part of your comment, which may or may not look really retarded. Oh, and if you find your post was "edited" to correct spelling errors, don't be offended. It's just your way of knowing that someone read it and cared about what it said :)

New Mix!

Hi kids! Bored with the same old tunes? Well head on over to the mixes pages and download the latest mix, The Hard Line. I'm going to try to have the cover art done soon, but for now there is a link you can click and save as a copy onto your hard drive. That's all that really matters anyway, isn't it?

Welcome to TheLoveBugDJ.com!!

It's a new day and a new launch for a new website. Already so many exciting things are happening for me, and after so many months of deliberation, I finally have a website that works for me. Come, take a look around. Some parts are still heavily under construction, as this website is brand new, but there should be enough here for you to get an idea of who I am and what I'm all about. Be sure to check out the mixes section, where all my mixes are available for download, or you can listen to them right on the site with the music player. Be sure to let your friends know how much you liked them too, so that they can come check it out for themselves. Everyone should have a chance to experience LoveBug!!!
